Secret River
Mike Hall is the founder and creative force behind Secret River Australia. So what’s his story?Well, originally it was Mike who wrote the stories. During journalistic assignments covering fair trade and working conditions in India, his interest and admiration of local skills emerged. The experience was the impetus that established and developed relationships with textile designers and artisans working with traditional techniques. Secret River‘s beautiful bedlinen and accessories are part of the repertoire being specially made with expert skills and hand-crafted materials.
Mike launched Secret River in 2010 and chose the name as it “evokes an intimate place of simple beauty – somewhere to lose yourself, unlock your heart, your dreams, desires and pleasures.” A charismatic man, tempered by his love of nature and people from faraway lands, Mike took inspiration from the Australian landscape and lifestyle for the Secret River collection. A resident of Sydney’s Scotland Island, he was particularly inspired by the coastal environment.
The bedlinen is made with 100% long-staple combed cotton. Its beauty is in the quality of the fabric and the tailoring. These are high-end products made to last with skilled craftwork; authentic, timeless and prepared for the daily usage of modern, relaxed living.
